Pou Whirinaki
Words like “coaching”, “mentoring” and “supervision” come with all sorts of connotations and pre-conceived bias. This is why we steer away from titles and seek to engage our clients in a way that is focussed on what they need at any given time.
Sometimes it is helpful for leaders and those who work with people to have an independent ear and an independent voice to draw from. I’ve always been drawn to the Māori concept of Pou Whirinaki. Quite literally it translates as the post on which others lean, or metaphorically, a trusted friend. A trusted friend is someone who holds you to account for decisions you make, is a listening ear, a sounding board, and at times someone who offers considered advice drawn from their own experiences.
We are happy to tailor a package based on whatever your needs may be. Get in touch here.
“I got a lot out of it and importantly I think my family and my organisation benefited from it because I made good sound judgments off the back of our chats."
“Most valuable of all was I trusted Jono that what was said in the room stayed in the room. Without that it can’t work and Jono was always trustworthy. He never spoke about any of his other clients business during our chats, he fundamentally understands the level of trust needed in our working environment."
